DURKOPP ADLER 272-160362-01 is a flat lockstitch machine with bottom feed, needle feed and automatic auxiliary operations. Its automatic functions include thread cutting, stitch fixing, foot lifting after sewing, needle up/down positioning. The machine has an integrated stepper motor (SERVO motor), maximum speed of 5000 stitches/min, maximum stitch length of 6mm, enlarged bobbin (relative to the 272-140342-01 class, the bobbin is thicker). Central lubrication and two knobs for setting stitch length: one forwards, the other backwards - which is very practical for lockstitching.  There are buttons mounted at the needle bar, so in the field of vision and work of the seamstress. They are responsible for positioning the needle up/down, sewing one stitch at a time and activating the lockstitch.
